Relief for Hammers star Paqueta as charges not proven in betting probe
LUCAS PAQUETA has been cleared of betting breaches by the FA following a two-year investigation into allegations he deliberately received yellow cards in four Premier League games.
A three-person independent commission have ruled the charges could not be proven - but the West Ham star has been found guilty of failing to comply with the investigation.
The FA launched their probe in August 2023 following an accusation the playmaker was involved in spot-fixing offences.
He was charged in May 2024 and although there was never a suggestion Paqueta placed any bets himself, it was alleged friends and family in Brazil profited after betting on the midfielder to be booked.
