Child benefit cap 'to be scrapped'

LABOUR is considering scrapping the cruel Tory two-child benefit limit and replacing it with a new tapered system.

It is one of the options Rachel Reeves is said to be looking at to replace the policy, blamed for trapping kids in poverty.

However, one government source told The Mirror: “No decisions have been made. Work on the child poverty strategy is ongoing.”

The two-child benefit limit restricts Child Tax Credits and Universal Credit to the first two children in a family.
