CHELSEA hit out at Enzo Maresca for the disruption he caused last season as the Italian was finally confirmed as Manchester City's new boss.
Maresca has paid part of Chelsea's £17million compensation package himself in order to become City manager.
He held talks with City last December about replacing Pep Guardiola while still at Stamford Bridge, officially departing on New Year's Day.
He is now the new man at City and apologised to Chelsea, with both parties releasing statements yesterday.
A statement from Chelsea, which never mentioned Maresca by name, read: “In Autumn last year, the club was informed by our former head coach that there might be an opportunity for him to succeed Pep Guardiola at the end of the season.
