ROOKIE Oliver Bearman insists the summer break is vital for drivers to recharge away from the track - even if he can't get racing off his mind.

- BY HARRY SMITH

The Formula One break comes at a perfect time for some and a frustrating one for others.

For Haas prodigy Bearman, it could well have been a case of the latter after he recovered from a pit-lane start to finish a career-best sixth at the Dutch Grand Prix last time out.

But the 20-year-old is adamant the rest was very much needed ahead of a gruelling second half of the season.

“It's definitely important," Bearman (above) said in the Haas motorhome in Zandvoort. “Not just for the driver, but also for the team members.

“It's three weeks where we're able to actually get away from the racing and the stress of racing.
