Alan Bates: Baddies seem to be hiding...

But Post Office scandal fighter still hopeful of getting justice

SIR Alan Bates claims those responsible for the Post Office Horizon scandal are laying low.

The ex sub-postmaster has recently settled his own claim for a “seven-figure” sum but blasted the redress schemes for victims of the troubled computer system as “quasi-kangaroo courts”.

An estimated 1,000 people were wrongly prosecuted from 1999 to 2015 as a result of Horizon.

Sir Alan, 70, wants criminal convictions against those found guilty of wrongdoing. But he said: “I don’t think we'll get that justice for a long time yet. All the baddies seem to be hiding.”
