US announces $ 2 m additional aid for Ditwah-affected

THE US Embassy in Sri Lanka on Tuesday announced an additional $ 2 million in US humanitarian assistance to support communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah, bringing total US assistance for the response to $4 million.

This new funding builds on $2 million in US assistance announced in December 2025 within 72 hours of the cyclone’s landfall, underscoring the US’ commitment to providing timely, effective support to communities impacted by the disaster.
