Wonder gel jab has helped me see again

A WONDER jab has restored a woman’s sight after specialists pumped up her eye with gel.

Nicki Guy, 47, lost her vision after suffering from hypotony — or low eye pressure.

But now she says a pioneering treatment has cured her and she hopes to be able to start driving again — and take her son skiing.

Nicki was the first patient to have her left eye injected with a low-cost gel, as part of a project led by experts at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. It allows medics to pump up the eye like a football, filling empty spaces with the gel.
