DONALD Trump is being seduced by the promise of royal pageantry, with Prince William due to help secure a post-Brexit trade deal on his state visit.

The Prince of Wales is expected to take a leading role during the president's official September trip, capitalising on his well-known admiration for the monarchy and its grandeur.

Sir Keir Starmer extended the invitation personally during a meeting at the White House in February, emphasising Britain's desire to "reset and elevate the transatlantic relationship.

And according to insiders, the Prime Minister strategically mentioned Prince William's involvement.

A White House source said: "As soon as the Prince of Wales was mentioned, Trump lit up. He's always been captivated by the pomp and circumstance of the monarchy and he sees William as a commanding figure.

"Trump will love it being laid on for him, and it will play heavily into his ego.
