Turkey in a sleeping bag makes for a Berry Christmas

YOU'VE heard of pigs in blankets but Mary Berry is preparing her festive turkey in a sleeping bag.

The TV chef, 90, will have her roast ready on Christmas morning but will wrap it up in a sleeping bag and towels for a long trip to the table.

Dame Mary is eating at her son Tom's house along with his wife Sarah and family, however, she insists on bringing the prized bird with her.

Explaining her routine, she said: "I bring the turkey - I have it ready by 11am and then wrap it in foil, old clean towels and a sleeping bag without a zip, and put it in the boot of the car for the drive to my son's.

"It stays piping hot and the meat is rested, even after four or five hours, because of the bulk of the thing.
