Maresca can't work out how to solve expensive defensive habit
ENZO MARESCA admits he has failed to cure Chelsea's dodgy defensive "habit" with their Premier League opener against champions Manchester City looming large.
The Blues let in 63 goals in 38 top-flight games last season and, despite rallying to finish sixth and qualifying for Europe, it was not enough to save former manager Mauricio Pochettino's job.
Chelsea conceded 12 goals in five matches on their US tour, which ended with a 2-1 defeat by Real Madrid in Charlotte, North Carolina on Tuesday.
Former Leicester manager Maresca, right, branded the combination of a high line without a press as "suicide" after being battered 4-1 by Celtic at the end of July.
