The country needs Iron Lady’s mettle
Daily Express
|October 07, 2025
HIS country is in desperate need of a modern-day Margaret Thatcher, to save us from economic collapse, uncontrolled immigration, rising lawlessness and the ever-expanding public sector rinsing the taxpayer. Mrs T came to power in 1979 when the economy was in freefall, tax was sky high, the wealthy and successful were leaving the country in droves and the unions were holding the country to ransom. Sound familiar? And Thatcher, “steered by a star to stop Britain being satisfied with decline” turned the good ship Blighty around from being the sick man of Europe to an economic powerhouse.
-
But it wasn’t easy. The medicine she gave to the country caused much controversy. But even when 364 economists wrote to The Times saying her 1981 budget was wrong and damaging to the country, she stuck to her guns famously saying “You turn if you want to. The lady’s not for turning”.
What a stark contrast to the lily-livered, useless, Sir Flip-Flop — Keir Starmer — held hostage by his own party and vested interests.
Oh how we need her clarity, courage, and purpose to win the biggest battle of our time — mass immigration — and to take on the activist lawyers and judges, left-wing charities and vested interests who let this racket run with impunity.
