MANCHESTER synagogue terrorist Jihad Al-Shamie died in a hail of police bullets after running at them with a knife while wearing a fake suicide belt, an inquest heard.

He had driven his car into worshippers at Heaton Park Hebrew Congregation Synagogue in Crumpsall, Greater Manchester, before attacking them with the blade on October 2.

Father-of-three Melvin Cravitz, 66, and Adrian Daulby, 53, were killed, and Al-Shamie, 35, was shot dead by armed police. Others were injured.

On Wednesday the inquests into the two victims were opened and told that Mr Cravitz was stabbed by Al-Shamie but Mr Daulby died when police accidentally shot him in the chest as he stood behind a door.
