SPRING INTO CONSERVATORIES

FOR so many of us, a conservatory is something we longed for yet which turns out to be the most underused room in the house.

A well-insulated conservatory can open up a new world, creating a living space in the garden that you become part of.

Yet what so few of us consider is that while sitting under a glass - or polycarbonate - roof can be idyllic when the weather is just right, it is often far from perfect, leaving only a small window of enjoyment.

Under the summer sun it can become uncomfortably hot, and when conditions turn chilly especially those freezing snaps that we now get - it often becomes a room to avoid altogether. Then glass gets grimy, polycarbonate yellows, glare becomes a nuisance, heat escapes quickly, and the panels are difficult to keep clean and damage-free, making it easy to see why so many conservatories fall out of use.
