ATHIRD of stroke survivors are left speechless - but many can raise a tune instead.
The survey of 1,000 victims to mark Stroke Awareness Month found 33% could not talk after being struck ill.
However, 26% said they could sing or hum before they could speak.
Music helped 61% improve communication skills, with 51% saying it aided their memory.
The poll has prompted a new Stroke Association fundraiser called Sing4Stroke.
