Sellout Taylor Swift shows boost economy by billions

TAYLOR Swift has sold millions of records after conquering the music world - now she's boosting the global economy by billions with her gigs.

The US singer, 33, is causing a worldwide spending spree as fans flock to her concerts and snap up tickets, merchandise and hotel rooms. The Shake It Off star is currently on the Argentina leg of her world tour, which reaches Britain next June.

US cities which have already hosted her shows said they helped them recover from the economic toll of the pandemic by bringing back visitors and their wallets.

The Eras Tour, which started in March and ended its US leg in August, is on track to become the biggest in pop history. It has a projected gross of £1.8billion in North American ticket sales alone and has led to hundreds of millions of download streams.
