GRIM DISCOVERY IN L.A. MANSION

Rob Reiner's son arrested as Hollywood legend and his wife are found knifed to death

With son Nick, who is in custody, as police seal crime scene at LA home

THE youngest son of Hollywood director Rob Reiner has been arrested for the murder of his father and mother after they were found dead in their Los Angeles home.

Nick Reiner, 32, was in police custody last night after his parents were discovered with multiple stab wounds reportedly by their daughter Romy, 28, on Sunday.

Troubled son Nick has worked as a screenwriter but also had regular bouts of homelessness and battles with drug addiction. Neighbours said they heard raised voices coming from the couple's upmarket property in Brentwood in the hours before the grim discovery, it was reported.

The LA fire department said it responded to a medical aid request shortly after 3.30pm and found a 78-year-old man and 68-year-old woman dead inside.

Detectives said they were investigating an "apparent homicide".

Los Angeles police department deputy chief Alan Hamilton told a press conference yesterday: "We're going to try to speak to every family member to get to the facts of this investigation."
