PARENTS’ concerns about food costs have increased to levels not seen since autumn 2022, when inflation was in double figures, a survey found.

- By Vicky Shaw

Some 87% of working-age parents reported being worried about the price of food in the month to mid-August, according to research by Which?

This was an increase of six percentage points since May and is an indication that concern over the weekly shop has returned to levels not seen since November 2022 - a month when annual Consumer Prices Index inflation was running at 10.7%.
