Revealed: The finest coastal views in Britain

WE all like to be beside the seaside and St Ives, Padstow and Robin Hood’s Bay give us our favourite picture perfect view.

They were chosen by the public as the most breathtaking British coastal scenes.

A poll of 2,000 people found when holidaying in the UK, eight in 10 said a room with a view was important to them while for 35% it was a must have.

The top three spots in Cornwall and North Yorkshire were followed by Portree on the Isle of Skye and Tenby in South West Wales.

Others that made the top 10 included Poole in Dorset, Shanklin on the Isle of Wight and the scenic South Downs.
