Reform ready for 'tussle' to win safe Labour seat

NIGEL Farage unveiled Reform UK's by-election candidate for Runcorn and Helsby yesterday — and predicted his party could take the seat in a “hell of a tussle”.

He boasted how Sarah Pochin, a former magistrate and Tory mayor, had a “much better CV” than ex-Labour MP Mike Amesbury, who quit after being handed a suspended jail term for punching a man in the street.

Despite the constituency being the 16th safest Labour seat in the country, Mr Farage insisted the party “can do it”.

Introducing Ms Pochin outside Reform UK’s new Runcorn office, he described her as someone “who is going to be a lawmaker and, I promise, not a law-breaker”.
