Actor Charlie Sheen and friends on his roller-coaster rise, fall and recovery
-
He was the highest paid TV star of all time when he starred in his sitcom Two And A Half Men — then after a string of drugs scandals, Charlie Sheen was fired.
Earning $1.8m (£1.3m) per episode, Charlie was at the height of his popularity when the axe came in 2011, following a toxic fall out with the show's creator Chuck Lorre over his incredibly erratic and problematic behaviour.
Now Charlie — who once boasted of “banging seven gram rocks” of cocaine and claimed to have “tiger blood” running through his veins — is telling his story on Netflix.
“When you got a lot of shame about a lot of stuff, shame is suffocating,” Charlie tells the cameras. “I lit the fuse and my life turned into everything it wasn't supposed to be. Everything was fine for a while. Nobody got hurt, nobody got arrested. For a while.”

Help our hospitals recover by boosting health care at home
A RECENT analysis of NHS data shows that patients staying in hospital longer than medically necessary are costing the health service more than £200million a month. These are people who are fit to be discharged but can’t leave because the right care simply isn’t available in the community. The result? Beds taken by people who don’t need to be there, while patients wait in corridors or ambulances for treatment.
