Rob Burrow's father hopeful as prof starts role named after son
THE father of rugby league hero Rob Burrow says he has hope there will one day be an end to motor neurone disease after new research was announced.
World-leading neurologist Dr Johnathan Cooper-Knock has been drafted to the front line to solve how the disease starts - and his new role has been named after Rob, who died aged 41 from the condition last June.
Dr Cooper-Knock is the first Rob Burrow Professor at the MND Association and the rugby star’s dad Geoff, 75, said: “Funding for MND research gives us hope that one day there will be an end to MND.
