Nurse is critically injured after A&E stabbing

A NURSE was fighting for her life last night after being stabbed at a busy A&E when a patient was said to have become angry about waiting for treatment.
The staff nurse, in her 50s, was struck with a "sharp instrument" at Royal Oldham Hospital. Sources say the weapon was not a knife.
The victim was said to be in a critical condition with injuries described as "life changing". Her friends and colleagues are said to be receiving support.
A 37-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of attempted murder after the attack at 11.30pm on Saturday night.
One nurse at the hospital claimed it happened after a patient became angry because they were waiting too long to be seen.
