Don't change rules for France exiles says McCall
OWEN FARRELL'S boss insists there must be no change to the rule which prevents players who leave the Premiership from being selected for England.
Mark McCall, Saracens' director of rugby, made it clear he wants club captain Farrell to remain in north London rather than take up a lucrative three-year deal with Racing 92 in Paris.
But he was equally emphatic that the RFU's stance of not picking players who choose to take up money-spinning deals abroad must not change.
McCall said: "We all want the Premiership to be as strong a competition as it can be, which is why the rule that you can only play for England if you play in the Premiership is essential. That needs to stay.
