NHS trial blood test finds seven times more cancers

A REVOLUTIONARY blood test that screens for more than 50 cancers has delivered “exciting” results, researchers have revealed.

The Galleri test, which is being trialled by the NHS, is correct in 62% of cases where it thinks people may have the disease, a study found.

It is said to be able to detect “seven times as many cancers as the other programmes put together”.

The test works by looking for the “fingerprint” of dozens of deadly cancers, often picking up signs before symptoms appear.
