Political rivals rise up as fury develops over 'dead captives'
BENJAMIN Netanyahu was plunged into crisis after a key war cabinet minister quit and anger grew over Hamas claims that three hostages died in Israel's bloody Gaza rescue.
Benny Gantz resigned over what he said was the PM's apparent lack of post-war plans for the Palestine.
It came after Saturday's deadly raid which freed four captives - Noa Argamani, 26, Almog Meir Jan, 22, Andrei Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 41who were seized at a music festival in Israel on October 7.
But as the country celebrated their release, Hamas claimed three more hostages it was holding in Gaza, including a US citizen, died. Hamas gave no proof of the deaths and Israel dismissed it as propaganda.
However, Saturday's gun battles and air strikes in central Gaza's Nuseirat area killed 300 Palestinians and injured 700, sparking international criticism of Israel's tactics.
