Jurors left shaken by CCTV footage of 20-minute violent rampage
A KILLER high on drugs skinned and deboned his pet cat before hacking a 14-year-old boy to death with a Samurai sword, a jury was told yesterday.
Tragic Daniel Anjorin was walking to school when he had his life "snuffed out in an instant" by "mystic musician" Marcus Arduini Monzo, prosecutors alleged.
They said said the "chopping" blow to Daniel's neck was so severe it caused an "unsurviveable" injury. The boy was wearing head-phones so did not hear his attacker running up behind him with the 2ftlong blade.
He died when Monzo allegedly went on a 20-minute rampage in Hainault, east London, on April 30 last year, and attacked four other people.
He has pleaded not guilty to murder and attempted murder.
The Old Bailey heard the 37-yearold does not deny carrying out the attacks, but claims he was suffering from a "psychotic episode" brought about by mental illness.
Prosecutors argued Monzo's rampage was self-induced by taking drugs and said police, who raided his home in Newham, found cannabis alongside the mutilated cat.
Tom Little KC added: "There was a clear intention to kill a number of people that morning on the defendant's part. It did not matter who they were, or indeed how old they were. Daniel Anjorin is the boy that was murdered.
