MIDFIELDER AT HEART OF VILLA’S RISE
UNAI EMERY has told John McGinn he has earned the right to enjoy the good times at Aston Villa.
The Scotland midfielder was at the centre of a love-in at the final whistle as the Spaniard's side pushed themselves to within three points of the Premier League summit following the 3-1 victory against Fulham.
McGinn, signed from Hibernian for £2.75million by Steve Bruce in 2018, has seen the bad times in the Championship - and now the wheel has turned full circle.
Sunday's victory made it 13 on the spin at home in the league, matching a post-war club record set in 1983. That run is a chief reason Villa have started the campaign so well and captain McGinn a scorer against Fulham has played a key role.
