Ugarte keen to prove he is worth that £50m fee

MANUEL UGARTE has vowed to show he is worth the £50million Manchester United paid for him.

The midfielder, signed from Paris Saint-Germain a year ago, endured a tough first season as United limped to their worst Premier League finish in 15th place.

Ugarte, 24, failed to live up to his hefty’ transfer fee and was an unused substitute for United’s last two games of the season ~ including the Europa League final defeat by Tottenham.

But the Uruguay international impressed in United’s 2-1 win against West Ham in the first game of their US tour at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium.

He pressed high, regularly won back possession and went on a fine run to set Amad Diallo up for an effort that was ruled out for offside.
