Lionesses will not take the knee after Jess Carter was racially abused online

ENGLAND will not kneel before their Euro 2025 semifinal tomorrow night as the Lionesses rally behind defender Jess Carter.

She has revealed she has suffered racist abuse during the tournament.

The defending champions said they would refrain from “taking the knee” - a widespread anti-racism gesture - before kickoff against Italy to signal to the world that “more needs to be done” about racism.

Carter said she has been the target of racist comments on social media during the tournament.

The 27-year-old, who has started all of the team's four matches so far in Switzerland, said she will take a step back from social media to focus on the rest of the tournament.
