“But now there’s a lot of [former] Premier League teams in the Championship, that’s what some people are forgetting. As much as the hype is around Birmingham, it’s going to be tough.

“This season will probably be the most difficult season we'll ever have — for the way we want to play, ambitions we have.

“But people said a lot about us last year and we still overcame it. People are going to be saying a lot about us this year as well.

“Let’s see if we can overcome it. You hear what [club owners] Knighthead say, you hear what the gaffer says, there’s a buzz around the club.
