'Labour tax plans to hit OAPs for £500 a year'

CHANCELLOR Rachel Reeves is set to impose a £500-a-year retirement tax on pensioners, the Tories have claimed.

They said a freeze on income tax thresholds means the state pension will be eligible for income tax for the first time. Even people solely dependent on the state pension with no other income could be taxed and April 6, 2027, is the date the tax grab is due to come into effect.
