Jobless legal migrants cost taxpayers £23bn

Total rises to 86bn when international students included
MORE than £23 billion of taxpayers' money has been spent supporting jobless legal migrants since 2020.
And if international students are added to the bill, the total cost would be an eye-watering £36billion.
The figures come from the Centre for Migration Control campaign group using recently published data from the Office for National Statistics.
Robert Bates, the centre's research director, said: "These findings show that mass migration is far from the economic panacea that the advocates of open borders purport it to be."
Between October and December, there were 724,000 jobless or economically inactive migrants, revealed the ONS Labour Force Survey.
