JAMES DISMISSES BLUES HAVE AN ISSUE AFTER ANOTHER RED

AS Ange Postecoglou was busy getting his cards in double quick time, Reece James was left to defend Chelsea's disciplinary record after a fifth red in their past six matches.

Malo Gusto was dismissed after picking up two bookings in the win against Nottingham Forest, which sealed Big Ange’ fate after just 39 days at the City Ground.

Gusto’s second booking came in the 87th minute, with the game done and dusted, for a mindless challenge on Neco Williams.

It came on the back of Chelsea head coach Enzo Maresca being shown a red card against Liverpool, while Joao Pedro was sent off in the win against Benfica. Trevoh Chalobah suffered the same fate versus Brighton and Robert Sanchez was given his marching orders early into the defeat by Manchester United last month.

Despite this, James refuted suggestions that Chelsea have an issue when it comes to discipline.

“It’s difficult, if you look at all of them, they’re all very much different red cards” the Chelsea captain said.
