SOUTHPORT ATTACK TEACHER'S KNIFE CRIME MISSION

SOUTHPORT stabbings Heroine Leanne Lucas yesterday said she does not know where her strength to campaign comes from — but she is devoting every bit of it to ending the horror of knife crime.

The yoga teacher helped several children run to safety last summer, despite being stabbed five times by monster Axel Rudakubana at a Taylor Swift-themed dance class where three little girls lost their lives.

And now she wants every house-hold in the country to use rounded, or blunted, knives in their kitchens.

Leanne says that will remove the most dangerous parts of the potential weapons found in every home — and help end the devastating impact of knife crime on families and communities.

Declaring her Let’s Be Blunt mis-sion, Leanne told the Daily Express: “Every minute we wait, there are more and more opportunities for people to pick up something domestic in their home and use it as a weapon.”

She added: “What happened to us in the summer was devastating and quite frankly shocking.

“That’s one of the things spoken about the most — you just don’t know who it is going to happen to and you don’t know when it’s going to happen.

“Launching this now is poignant really because we are saying we are not going to wait for a law to come through. We are not going to wait for the next scheme to be put in place.
