Hostess sues BA for injuries after cyclone rocked plane

A STEWARDESS who was thrown into the air and buried under a pile of drinks has accused airline bosses of failing to warn her properly before a cyclone struck.

Laura Lannigan fractured a knee and dislocated a shoulder after the British Airways Boeing 777 plunged violently over India.

Ms Lannigan, 53, fell heavily and was struck by metal canisters full of water bottles.

The crew member, from Richmond, South-West London, is suing BA for £80,000 in compensation.

BA denies liability for her injuries. It argues she was told of the possibility of a cyclone and warning lights telling the crew and passengers to stay seated were on.
