Elliott brace books final spot
TWO-GOAL Harvey Elliott was the matchwinner as England’s Under-21s booked their place in the European Championship final.
The Liverpool midfielder scored a marvellous winner five minutes from time against the Netherlands to keep Lee Carsley’s side on course for a successful defence of their title.
In a tight semi-final, Elliott gave the Young Lions the lead and restored it after the Dutch equalised.
His double took his tournament tally to four in five games and underlined his status as one of the stand-out players in Carsley’s talented and resilient squad.
