Hands off triple lock!

CALLS to scrap the triple lock to fund measures to help working-class boys get on in life have been condemned by campaigners for pensioners.

A think tank said the triple lock where the state pension rises in line with the higher of inflation, earnings or 2.5% should link to inflation only.

The Centre for Social Justice argued savings should go to white working-class boys, which it called one of society's most disadvantaged groups.

But the Silver Voices campaign group warned working-class boys are likely to have grandparents who are struggling and rely on the triple lock.
