Havertz shines as leaders put the heat on title rivals

GUNNERS GO ON A POWER TRIP

THIS was a glorious statement of intent from Arsenal.

And all done to the tune of their favourite chant for two-goal Kai Havertz, who piled on the misery for his old club.

Chelsea’s second-half collapse was embarrassing and no wonder the away end was virtually empty well before the final whistle. They had seen enough of another dismal display which will pile the pressure on Mauricio Pochettino as Arsenal ran them ragged to go three points clear of Liverpool at the top.

Havertz was brilliant and it is no wonder the Arsenal fans chant sarcastically: “£60million down the drain – Kai Havertz scores again.”

Chelsea fans were queuing up last summer to delight in telling Arsenal how they had got it wrong in signing a player who never quite fulfilled his potential at Stamford Bridge. But to his great credit, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has got the best out of the forward.
