Gravy wrestlers push the boat out

ALL the competitors at the World Gravy Wrestling Championships came to a sticky end yesterday.

The 16 men and eight women spent their bank holiday grappling in a sauce-soaked ring to win the coveted trophy and £100.

Men's champ at the Rose 'N' Bowl pub in Rossendale, Lancs, was George Young, 18, from Stacksteads, who said he'd made his family proud.

"Because it is only a small town, it is a big thing, and (the trophy is) going to be there forever, so it's pretty cool.
