Giant pothole fix gets a £160k standing ovation

ONE of the UK’s worst potholes - so deep a 6ft man could stand waistdeep in it — has finally been filled in as part of a £160,000 road makeover.
Councillor Malachy Quinn, who shared a photo of himself standing in the hole, said the road in question had been a problem for 40 years.
It was laid on an unstable peat bog and kept sinking, despite numerous attempts at repairs.
