Spurs boss enjoys lift-off after deserved derby win

THOMAS FRANK could not have asked for a better start at Tottenham - in the first north London derby outside the UK.

The new Spurs head coach masterminded a 1-0 victory against Arsenal in front of a crowd of 49,975, the biggest football attendance in Hong Kong’s history.

The clash was anything but a preseason friendly.

And it was decided in spectacular fashion by Pape Sarr, who scored with a rocket from near the halfway line just before halftime.

Frank was delighted how the win set the tone for his reign.

He said: “This was as positive a result as you can get in terms of reinforcing the messages and team building. The desire to defend was good.
