Fans' relief after Three Lions win

Roared on by 30,000 raucous Three Lions fans in Germany, and millions more glued to the box in pubs, bars, fan zones, and living rooms back home, the Real Madrid star sealed a 1-0 victory against Serbia with a first-half header.

It got the footballing summer party started in style.

The 20-year-old is a "generational talent", cooed an England fan at Wembley Box park.

Drinks flew through the air as supporters celebrated the triumph.

Daniel Dunne, 32, of Colchester, Essex, said: "He is a generational talent. He got the goal.

"He has to start, it doesn't matter where we play him." On what turned out to be a glorious weekend, football supporters across the nation were in fine voice long before last night's 8pm kick-off.
