Families get inquiry into failings in NHS trust maternity care

GRIEVING families have welcomed the launch of an independent investigation into maternity and neonatal services at an NHS trust where they say their babies were failed.

Whistleblowers have warned units remain unsafe, and the BBC reported that at least 56 baby deaths between January 2019 to July 2024 might have been preventable with better care.
The parents say they felt dismissed and even blamed for what went wrong at Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
