BOSS KEEN TO BUILD A LASTING LEGACY
UNAI EMERY is determined to avoid Aston Villa becoming a Champions League one-season wonder as he looks to build a lasting legacy.
The Birmingham club head into tonight's last-16 second leg against Club Brugge at Villa Park in the driving seat after last week's win in Belgium.
They have not reached the quarter-finals since 1983 — the season after they were crowned European Cup winners — when they were beaten by Juventus.
Villa were unable to stay among the elite back then and were even relegated from the top flight in 1987 before bouncing back at the first attempt.
