Activists urge tighter rules
CAMPAIGNERS want Labour to bolster planning rules, to stop homes being built on floodplains.
Any loosening of regulations has been attacked as “irresponsible”, with warnings it risks causing misery for thousands of householders.
More than 100,000 homes may be built on the highest-risk flood zones in England in the next five years amid the government’s push for 1.5 million extra properties this Parliament.
