Disabled workers’ ‘double’ prejudice

OLDER disabled people face a double whammy of prejudice in the workplace and while job hunting, research claims.

A survey of more than 1,000 adults aged 50-66 found 44% of disabled people felt they had experienced negative treatment when applying for roles or promotions in the past five years, compared with 25% of non-disabled people.
