Dentist with a sweet tooth has slice of luck

THE fresh batch of Bake Off contestants are a mixed dozen that include a student dentist, a bingoloving gran and a finalist from 2024's Young Farmer of the Year.

The hopefuls are aged 19 to 71, with the youngest being teenager Sumayah who is indulging her sweet tooth before going on to study dentistry. Sumayah, below, feared she had ruined her chance in the audition, explaining: "Despite my disastrous audition, I had this inexplicable feeling I would get into the tent not because I was confident in myself but more a sense of impending fear."
