CRADLED in the arms of its mother, a newborn orangutan has brought fresh life to a species on the brink. Keepers are celebrating the birth at Chester Zoo as a “milestone step”.
The tiny Bornean orangutan - one of the world’s most endangered great apes - was delivered by mum Leia following an eight-and-a-half-month pregnancy earlier this month.
