Burrower... Francis's spectacular landmark in back garden of his home

FRANCIS Proctor is a man with tunnel vision - and a labyrinth of caves he dug 20ft under his garden.

The retired photographer spent 27 years creating his lair with spades and shovels in what began as a daft idea.

Francis said: “I wanted to have an underground room that I could travel down to from the garden.

“It was pretty silly.”
