Historic Blackpool pier for sale

FOR SALE: Iconic Victorian coastal property, many original features, with uninterrupted sea views. May need some updating.

Blackpool’s 162-year-old North Pier is looking for a new owner but the price has not been disclosed.

Global real estate agents Avison Young said the landmark’s turnover last year was £2.3million, and they are looking for “sensible offers” for the Victorian promenade attraction.

North Pier — which predates the Lancashire resort’s famous tower by 31 years — stretches about 1,410ft out from the shore.

It opened on May 21, 1863 and was bought in 2011 by the Sedgwick family, who also own the town’s other two later piers, Central (unveiled in 1868) and the 1893 South Pier.
